It has been extremely hot here and our little house does not have any air conditioning or built in fan (ridiculous for Ellensburg...but anyway!) the cat has been like crazy shedding and black hair is EVERYWHERE. He practically lives under my bed where the fans hits and is nice and cool. To try and get some of the hair off of him Chelsea decided to bathe him - something we started when he was a baby because he didnt know how to clean himself. It is the most pitiful thing ever. But in the end I think he rather enjoyed the cool down and although he acts mad at us. I managed to get some pictures... and while he just looks like a drowned rat, he smells much better!!

Looking Back
I remember after my Viking softball career was over I sat almost catatonic in front of the TV glued to the NCAA Softball World Series knowing that after that summer my Softball career would be over. It has been tradition ever since. It brings back amazing softball memories. Thinking back I had awesome experiences and played for one of the greatest coaches and programs in the entire state of Washington. While it certainly wasnt always easy it was an experience I wouldnt trade for anything...

To say softball was my life is an understatement. I loved playing for Inglemoor. I loved playing Big League where I got to be a starter and was a team leader. I made some of my best friends playing for D8. It allowed me to maintain my skills and continuous learning without having to join a traveling team. I miss it everyday. I miss the challenge. The sprinting, stair running, lunges, jump-roping, Viking Pride, and 285's. I miss the rivalrys, the anxiousness of a close game, and pure excitement over a victory, and the let down of a heartbreaking loss. I miss the inside jokes, the pre-game rituals, the superstitions, and random hilarious moments that only your teammates laugh at and understand. And I am thankful for the wonderful experiences and memories I have!!!!
- 2003 Big League State Champions (District 8) where I scored the tying run in our first game, had an RBI in the championship game, and caught the final out. My name was in the paper which was very exciting at the time! We took third at Divisionals that year
- JV Captain for IHS in 2003 and 2004
- My first call to play for Varsity after I had minor foot surgery, ignoring the doctor and had my first RBI, recorded two outs at second, and busted a stitch in my foot (so worth it!) Got my first score in the paper that game! (Having to fight and earn my way to Varsity definitely made me more determined and a better softball player)
- Being a member of the 2004 4A State Championship Team. I never set foot on the field but being in the dugout was good enough for me. I was apart of History. Fighting back to win 3 games against 3 tough teams to even get to state and then owning at state was incredible. There is something to be said about being the underdog!
- 2004 Voted Most Inspirational. JV team.
- Big League hosted Divisionals 2004 we placed third. Again. To Alaska. I had a line drive that bounced off my glove with two outs which loaded the bases. The next batter hit a triple. We lost 5-4 (one of those not so great moments!) Kendra and Stacy still remind me about it to this day. I still have nightmares. HaHa
- Senior Night. Having all of us Seniors on the field at the same time was incredible. I had known most of these girls since elementary school. It was a great moment with them all.
- 2005 -Placed Second at the Big League State Tournament. Coach named me MVP for my excellent defense and team leadership (I had a designated hitter). I will never forget our 11 inning game in the extreme heat and playing tight D. The double Plays that Stacy, Rachel, Lorraine, and I had between 2B and 1B that saved runs. My most exciting moment I remember is the behind the bag grab I had and quick throw to 2B to stop the go-ahead-run. We lost to a team that had illegal girls from Oregon on it. I still feel bad that they felt they had to cheat their way through the game.

A Fun Weekend
I had a much needed Fun weekend.
Friday started out innocent enough with lunch and girl time at Jackie, Jen and Allie's house where we watched the 5th Harry Potter movie. Little did I know that it wouldnt end until 7am Saturday morning. My roomates and I are extremely competitive (in a fun loving way) and what started as watching the 1st Harry Potter movie turned into a challenge to watch all 5. In a row. No sleeping. Crazy? Absolutely. Let me explain.
Last year, Chelsea and I had a bet that we couldn't get off the couch for more than 5 minutes until we completed all 5 HP movies. We made it halfway through the 4th before we called a truce, went to bed and finished the next day. We declared Never Again. Until Sarah, an extreme Twilight fan who dislikes Harry Potter and had never seen all of the movies began watching when we started at 7pm. We didn't think she would watch it with us, and she challenged us to all 5 wanting to prove us wrong. Thinking she wouldnt make it past Prisoner of Azkaban (#3) Chelsea and I agreed to the challenge (did I mention we are competitve?!) As a proclaimed Night Owl I set myself up for the 12 hour marathon. The loser had to buy a plastic kiddie pool....(it is extremely hot over here)
Movie stretched into Movie...Pots of Coffee were made and drank, Coca Cola drank, Sunflower seeds consumed, the sun set, and then rose again. Interpretive dances were developed to stay awake in between movies, the cat was extremely confused and was the first to fall asleep. By the last half hour everyone was extremely delirious and not making much sense...but we all made it!! After a victory dance we headed to bed for a couple hour nap....before Saturday's Festivities began. Now if you are keeping up, I had already watched one HP movie that day. So I saw Order of the Phoenix twice for a total of 14 - 15 hours of Harry Potter. I will not be watching another HP movie until Half Blood Prince comes to the Theater in July. Chelsea thought it a cruel joke to turn on one of the movies playing on TV in our rooms Saturday night.
Saturday My friend Christin arrived for a visit. My little amount of sleep did not affect me at all! We watched World Series Softball, laid out in the sun with our ipod and my roomies and had a nice afternoon of chatter soaking up the sun! We then had a BBQ everybody brought something to contribute and we had a nice time in our first BBQ of the summer!!! yay!! The roomies crashed around 9:30 and I soon followed.
Sunday watched the Huskies clinch to go to the Finals!! Allie and Jen came over to watch Twilight before the MTV movie awards which was the most random thing I think I have ever seen in my life. We couldn't wait for the New Moon trailer!!! It Didn't dissappoint same with the HP 6 Trailer!!! (Both premeired at the movie awards...hince we watched Twilight to prepare...we are major nerds) And of course Twilight won 5/6 awards which is all of our favorite movie and book series right now (Sarah got us all on the Bandwagon)
And now its back to the grind!!!! But we I had a great weekend and actually got to spend time with good friends.

National Champions!!!
Congratulations to the Husky Softball team!!! I have religiously watched Regionals and the World Series since High School and never thought I would see the Huskies win it!!! I have watched the Nation's best players - like Cat Osterman, Monica Abbot, and many other National Team members go through the World Series and see them fail. It is extremely exciting to see former opponets/rivals from High School achieve such a huge accomplishment!!!! What was even better was they proved EVERYBODY wrong!!!! Even ESPN was singing Florida's praises!!! Pitcher Danielle Lawrie was Fearless and was absolutely incredible! The team never gave up and it was clear from the beginning they had an agenda and they would do whatever it took to accomplish it - bouncing back from errors and capitalizing on Georgia's and Florida's. Having only lost a couple of games hurt the Gators because they didn't know how to bounce back from a loss or when they were behind...they let the mental defeat them. It was clear the Huskies got to them which is a powerful weapon!!! Congrats Huskies!!!!The Kitten
Loves My Bathroom for some reason. Finally caught him with the camera hanging out on my towel rack. So funny. Chelsea caught him a month or two ago, and I have yet to be able to catch a picture!!! Next up is trying to get him when he swings on my robe and the bathroom door shuts! Although, he has stopped this since he has locked himself in the bathroom numerous times and has been stuck for hours (at night, while everyone is in class, etc)
